Sat nav fault -disc read

Hi all, had a search but couldn't find what's needed. Has anyone changed the DVD unit in the ccc? I believe they fail due to the anti shock gel hardening on the heads.

Has anyone done this/ know the part number for the DVD drive (not the full CCC)

BMW service bulletin 65 01 10 refers to repair instruction 65 83 580 for replacing the DVD drive (p/n 65-83-9-241-764).
A web search of the repair instruction by number should provide the info you need.

Thanks, I sorted it in the end. BMW sell the unit for a reasonable £80. A YouTube video helped me with the install.

Just had mine replaced under warranty. Failed on my M5 as well. Must be a common problem. They had them in stock.
