2010 x 5 4.8 brake dust after recent full brake job

This is my third x5 and have a few questions and in need of some guidence. I'm going to spit this into3 postings for conveineince.

Note, I've owned the 03 X5 as well as the 06 x5 (both w/ the 4.4 engine) and really loved them both. Due to milage it was now for a change:

Recently picked up 2010 CPO 4.8 w/ 25,000 miles and love it except for a couple of items.

Item 1: Full brake job done within the last 2 weeks prior to my purchase of the 2010 4.8. I am noticing a lot of brake dust on the wheels which was normal on my 03 X5, but generally not evident w/my 06 x5.
Normal....(?) or is it the pads, or the way life is (get along with it)?

Anyone's comments or guidance are appreciated? End of post 1.

Check the service records and ask what was done ... BMW dealer would normally replace the brake rotors and brake pads as a set, but given that the rotors only had 25K mi on them, it is entirely possible that the rotors spec'd out within the allowable wear tolerance and that the dealer "shaved" (cut) the rotors just enough to clean them so they would accept a new pair of (yes OE) brake pads. A newly shaved rotor tends to be more abrasive on the pads and cause them to be more dusty, at least initially. Much more important than the dust is the fact that the rotors and pads need to be broken in (seated) properly. Make SURE that is done within the first 100 to 300 miles! Check out the Zeckhausen brake bedding procedure.

Brake dust is normal on e70 with stock pads. Ceramic pads will eliminate 80% of the dust.
