That I am not sure of, the letter said 2007-2010.

Dealer called me back yesterday and mentioned, they will go by the letter.

They will change the vacuum pump and test the other systems mentioned.

I was told they will flush the brakes even if not contaminated.

This may not apply to all dealership.......this is what they say we will see. I have appointment for monday

I believe its only for V8 models, read it on another thread here in Xoutpost.. but it doesnt hurt to double check on this as my e70 is 2010 35D, anybody can re-confirm its only for V8s?

I haven't received the letter yet and no mention from the dealer when I was there couple of weeks back. I have the 3.0si.

I also received a recall letter. I have a friend on the inside @ the stealership. Hopefully he can just take care of both. I'm hoping to get it in next week.

Ha, a lot of us have "friends on the inside." However, in this case, having a friend on the inside probably doesn't mean much.

Made appt at dealer three days ago because of this recall. Brought it in today at 8:45am. They call me at 3:00 to tell me that they have to replace the break booster because it is contaminated. Says they have to keep car because recall says not to drive, and that part is on back order and will not be ready for 2 weeks. Guy told me BMW totally unprepared for this....anyone experiencing the same or is this dealer doublespeak? On my way there to pick up a loaner...would not be surprised if they gave me a Mini to substitute for my formerly fine 4.8 X5.....

My appintment is next week. They told me some of the parts were not available, but made the appoinment anyway. I fear this may be what's in store for me.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll verify they have ALL of the parts prior to my service.

Mine is at the shop now to fix this and the pano sunroof. I may never see my X5 again it sound like.
