E70 3rd seat row and vin

Hi,

I am ready to buy a used 2008 x5 3.0sd with 7 seats.
The extra seats are missing though, and the owner told me that they were removed just to have more space.
The car is imported from Germany, and its documents show it as a 7 seats car.
But, when i check the vin, the 3rd seats row is not showing in the results like all the other equipment.
I checked the vin of another x5 with 7 seats of a friend of mine, and the 3rd seats row is showing with code S4UB.

Does anybody know if this is normal, or the car is not with 7 seats but it is somehow registered like a 7seat?

Thanks in advance

Sounds odd. My 2008 has 3rd row seats with code S4UBA.

The seller is either lying or misinformed.

The 3rd row seats are not removable. At least not easily. It would take a lot of work to remove the 3rd row from an X5. There's no way someone could casually remove them to make more space.

If the VIN doesn't show the 3rd row the car most likely did not come with it.

Yeah, they aren't like the Tahoe/Suburban 3rd row, where you can remove them as if they are a suitcase. The 3rd row in the X5 is meant to be permanent.

does the car have the seats belts for the third row? Even if you can remove the seats, you definitely cannot remove the seat belts...

Is the 2nd row seat able to be moved backwards and forwards? X5's with 3rd row seats have that capability.

Removing the 3rd row seats gets you no more room either.

All the above statements are correct, 3rd row seats cannot be removed and the 2nd row should be moveable and reclineable.
