20" tires. Who has what and how many miles have you gotten out of them?
I'm at 13,xxx now on my 13 sav and I need new rear tires soon. I am hoping someone here has some good feedback on other tire options for the 20"wheels. So far, the OEM Dunlops are a dud. Loud and not as durable as I hoped. Maybe i just drive a bit harder than most coming off an e46 m3 cabrio? I am thinking of going to some Bridgestone or Michelin tires?
thoughts? |

many threads on how those summer tires go quickly. Must you stay with summers and run-flats? I and many others do well with the all-season Toyo Proxes STII (non-RFT). Well over 30k and still not a lot of wear. Lots also like the Vredesteins (not sure of the model).

Staggered Toyo Proxes STII...
Great all around tire, works well in the sun, rain and snow. In fact, some of the best I've ever owned on any vehicle. Now at 23k miles and fronta are still good for another 10k+. The rears are hardly worn at all, FYI, probably have another 25k in them. Great ride, even after lowering.

good question! All i know is the rears are about toast. wear on the left rear is worse than the right like most people have noted. I was in an unfortunate accident july 2012 and I needed a whole new rear suspension and just about everything that was connected to the rear end ( i was t-boned in my left rear wheel. messed up just the suspension and components. everyone in the car was safe). I also saw a 4 wheel alignment was done upon completion of the work but not sure what the readings were at the time. I just took a basic assumption that the alignment was done by BMW specifics since all the repair work was completed at a BMW dealer here in Northern VA. I am just mind boggled that these OEM tires wear out like the did when i had my M3. Maybe thats just the way i drive. Spirited. My first oil service is up in about a month/month and half and I will be sure to request alignment with readings. Is there an alignment setting that proves better overall wear and driving over OEM settings? Curious to know if there is, why hasn't BMW make the change so us consumers stay happy?

Beyond that, pay attention to tire pressure, and ensure you are not overinflating.

I got mine done last week by bmw dealer and it came out with an off-set (off-center) steering wheel....they will re-do it next week.... If they can screw that up, chances are they can screw up the alignment.....

I looked for these online to no success. Are they the same size as the OEM 20" set up?
