NON RFT tire pressure?

hey everyone, just wondering what tire pressure to run on NON-RFT tires (oem sized 20" TOYO PROXES STII). i tried using "oem rft specs" on the door and the tires looked flat.... and i started getting premature wear on the sides

right now im runnin 35psi front and back...is this ok? Usually just me and the wife (and she weighs under 99lbs)

I think 37 is reasonable for the rear.

I'd keep fronts at 35 though.

Don't have your year's manual in front of me, but I would rec'd going with what the door jamb sticker says, normal load vs full load, unless you are running a car service or hauling gold bars.

Doesn't matter how the tires 'look'; if you use an accurate gauge on stone cold tires, the proper pressure is just that. And, some RFTs will have a slightly 'stiffer' sidewall vs non RFTs, and eyeballing a tire bulge is not the method.

It really is rather simple-

Use whatever pressure gives you the ride, handling and wear you want- provided you stay under the labeled maximum. (and probably over the numbers BMW puts on the side of the door)

I have 5 cars, and a few other things with wheels, and I have no idea WHAT the manufacturer says to use for inflation!

OP- the observation that you will get excessive outer edge wear on the fronts due to the heavy front engine car plowing the tires around the turns is spot on- increase the pressure, you will get much less sideways roll. I use higher pressures in the front as compared to the rear, X5 and M5. The X5 has 37 in front 255/50-19 Mich RFTs

Again, as long as you are under the tire mfg max, you are free to experiment, IMO.

i did have it on the rec door jamb pressures, but i started to have abnormal tire wear on the outer tread. had these tires since week 2 of having my car, never drove it hard and havent even hit 4000 miles yet since sept.
