P Zero vs Latitude Tour HP

Anybody have experience with either Pirelli P Zero or Michelin Latitude Tour HP?

I'm trying to decide between those two tires for my summer tires.

Order of importance:
Mileage
Dry/Wet grip
Noise

I've had a couple of sets of Michelin Latitudes on an 08 and now on my 10. Noise became an issue after about 32-35k. Grip is very good in all weather, I'm due for another set later this year and it'll be Michelins. I've never experienced good tread life from Pirellis on other cars I've had them on.

Agree. My Latitudes have around 30k miles and I just started to notice that they are getting noisy. Rears are nearing end of life due to wear in the center strip. I'll be getting another set for sure. Great tire.

Those are totally 2 different types of tires--the Michelins are an all season less aggressive tread built more for longevity and the Pirelli's are a straight Summer Tire with more aggressive tread and softer compound (and less durability).

Yes, I was hoping someone would chime in that the Michelins has "just as much" dry grip as the P Zeros.

My irresponsible side says "get the P Zeros" and that I will have more fun with it.

My responsible side says "get the Latitude HP" and that I will appreciate the longer tread life (almost twice). Once the novelty of driving-it-like-you-stole-it wears off, I will like a quiter tire anyways.

I'm not sure which side I should listen to....

What tires do you have on now? Are they closer to Michelins or Pirellis? I'd get the opposite to what you currently have now so you could compare for yourself...
no, i lie, i'd get Pirelli's, regardless - if you like spirited driving, get what handles better and forget about being responsible - you only live once

The whole 'spirited' and 'grip' thing on a 5k pound wallowing SUV seems odd.

Are you running a timed course? Are you racing people?

With one tire you can hit 50 on an onramp...on the other you are at 45 when they squeal... do you really need to pay for that? You will likely get 2X on the latitides.

Oh, last thought- whatever you drive on now, after you change tires you will be back here gushing about how superior the new tires are compared to those OE _________s.

Hahaha...no but I do enjoy the occasional stoplight race. Disappointing mustangs, "tuners", & camaros one stoplight at a time.

I ended up getting the Lattitude Tour HPs. I'll let them "break in" before I give my review of them but for the short drive home, they are noticeably quiter than the Pirelli Snow & Ice tires I had on before. Ill test the cornering grip as soon as I can after 500 miles.

BTW, the tire looks huge when its off the truck.
