Proud new member 2009 x35d - Hello
Finally got around to registering after purchasing a 2009 x35d - space gray metallic on light gray interior. Has pretty much all of the goodies except running boards and 20" wheels and the DVD entertainment. Wanted to say thanks for all of the great info so far, I have been lurking for information before purchase, during purchase, and post-purchase . Working on a couple of things right now a) bought running boards from getbmwparts, coming in a few days; got the marson klik rivet tool and doing to attempt this next weekend b) rear right wheel well trim came scratched.. I saw a pretty good deal for a set of 4x fender flares and didn't do enough research. Some folks said it looked ok with 19's and I went off of that information.. later found more posts saying it just isn't right. LOVE the 214 20" wheels.. but just can't afford 3-4k at this point after splurging on the SAV itself. *** so if anyone is interested in a set of fender flares 20", I am in the bay area, California and can cut you a deal on a 100% brand new unopened set! Feel free to PM me c) bought a set of all-weather rubber mats - coming in the mail. went back and forth between mats and liners. Was *THIS* close to buying liners but luckily I went to the dealer and compared the two. Rubber mats are more substantial to me.. didn't like the feel of liners. d) got a y-cable and a 160gb 7th gen ipod e) had some minor door dings removed. f) the rear bumper is a bit scuffed.. not always noticeable but it might bug me enough to splurge for a new cover if the rear fascia removal DIY doesn't scare me off too much. e) brake flush and engine oil change - dealer asked me to pay $150 for a DEF top-off when a warning message didn't even come on yet. I declined completely not knowing what a DEF top-off was and then came here to quickly find out I could do it myself, so I bought a 2.5 gallon jug from getbmwparts. |

Nice, did you mod the headlight rings / angel eyes / coronas, whatever is the right term?
Which did you use? Looks good and I'm thinking about doing it |

Welcome. You might consider spacers for the wheels. 19's will look fine with flares if you space them out some.
I run 19" snows in the winter and use a 20mm spacer for the rear. Could go more, but looks ok. |
