blue dragon will become famous soon enough
I'm in Toronto, you need BMW standard tools which come with INPA, NCSExpert, tool32, winpfk etc. If you were local I could do it for you, but I don't have the tools to program remotely. Triple_O can program remotely, .

BMW uses Icom, triple_O has one, so he can flash the module as well with the correct daten files (Firmware) to bring it to the same level as the rest of the modules in your car. PM him and see what he says.

Apparently not.

Listen to Blue. He has a better grasp of this. Triple_O is a member here, you should contact him. He may be able to help.

Hey. I had this same problem!

No noise from speakers and had the SOS malfunction. It's a known issue.
Check this thread: SOS Call System Failure! - BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums

This is how i fixed it too (copied from 2nd page).

Just a follow up on this problem.
I had it too. Had a service appt booked and everything.

Then I did a brake fluid flush and cleared the associated maintence service warning for the flush. Somehow that cleared the SOS warning, and all my music/ etc is working again.

Long story short, try clearing your codes, and that might fix your problem.

I found this thread while searching for the issue on my e70 x5. Thought it might help others.
