I don't have one, but I remember reading that the camera pan is vertical only, and is vehicle speed sensitive. It is automatic, and not user controllable. YMMV, especially since there have been a few iterations of software since they came out.
Edit: ok, it seemed like an interesting question. The link below is to the technician training material for the E70, specific to the rear camera. According to the material, the pan is a virtual pan (it uses software to restrict the field of view, it doesn't move the lens). It goes up and down. Down to see near the trailer hitch if so equpped, up when you are going above 3 mph so that it doesn't show detail of the ground, but rather what is coming towards you as you reverse. The user selectable function is to turn that pan feature on or off. I don't know if the software changes that they did from time to time impacted this functionality or not.
