Retrofit Standard seat to comfort seat?

I've always wanted comfort seats!

Well Santa came early ... I located a pair of perforated, Nevada black leather comfort seats (not climatised), with memory and heat. The seats come out of a Jan built 2007 e70 4.8i, my car is an April built 2008. I have standard/basic seats (10 way adjustable, with memory and heat), but no "inflatable bladder" or articulating lumber support. Both of these functions I assume require additional motors and/or electrical connections ...

And herein lies my question: according to REALOEM and BMWFANS, the comfort seat p/n 52 10 0 034 675 is good for both the 07 and the 08.

Does anyone know, or have experience with doing such a swap? Will there be any coding involved? If so, what are the modules I should be looking at?

I am unable to find a post on an e70 swap, but I did read the post where Helmut swapped out his manual cloth seats for leather heated seats in an e53 in Germany. It sounds doable ...

Here are some pics of the seats I'm looking to swap:

I don't know about coding or what other electrical things you need, but you may have an issue in the fact that your 08 has active headrests while the 07's did not. Don't know if that's gonna cause a fault...but I would assume it would...

Found out that the pyrotechnic cartridge on driver's side seat belt receptacle has discharged (car was in a driver's side collision and enough damage was done for the insurance to total it)

While the part is available for replacement (see pic - p/n 721 1 17 295 963 - about $134), I have been warned by several dealer service departments that installing the seat will cause fault codes and that there's a good chance that the wiring is not compatible, or may need to be augmented by modules and or relays ...

It appears that the days of replacing or retro-fitting parts parts on BMW's is a thing of the past. Everything on the car is linked to the on-board computer!

Anybody have any experience with this?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm looking to do the same swap. Hate my base seats, even though I have heat/lumbar makes my back hurt after 30 min of driving.

Would love to retrofit comfort seats as long as it's a direct swap

Well to answer my own question, I purchased a set of Sport seats from a local junkyard and swapped them out. It was plug and play. Granted it was form the same year and same functions power/heated/lumbar so can't say if the comfort/MC versions would be the same.

Now I need a away to power the original seats off the car to store them away. I inclined them and raised them for easy removal.
