Blowing Rock, NC
The transmission is always in the perfect gear and the torque hauls me and two buddies around impressively! I love carving up these roads! |

If you are still here in Western NC, and would like some more recommendations on great two lane roads, routes, TTD, let me know...I have driven/ridden nearly every good two lane blacktop in 9+ counties of far western NC. Post, or DM me...
I agree: fabulous, mostly empty roads, cool little towns, great scenery, fun stuff. GL, mD Here in HillbillyHeaven...

Agreed, there's a lot of excellent driving roads out here. The only problem in the Blowing Rock/Boone/Beech Mtn area is that there's a ton of Floridians who drive under the speed limit. NC 184 up to Beech Mtn is one of the toughest roads in that area; my X3 sees it many times a year.
But that's where the torque of the diesel helps when overtaking is permitted
