How do you tow an e70 that is disabled

If you use the red hammer to release the brakes and shift the transmission from park to neutral, do you still need a flatbed tow truck or can you get the x5 towed by normal towing?

The instructions above are just to get it out of park.

Then, to tow it, the issue is having the front and rear axles turn at different speeds, and the damage that can cause to the transfer case.

If you are flat towing, ie 4 wheels on the ground, you can tow the X5 for up to 150 km at up to 70 km/hr.

If you are towing with one end lifted by a wheel lift tow truck, the other axle that would normally be on the ground needs to be on dollies, so those wheels aren't turning. BMW doesn't appear to trust that will always be followed, so recommends a flat deck instead.
