Let's see if I can remember all the trips to the shop:

1) Rear bumper with the faulty clips. Replaced bumper
2) Peeling trim on Steering wheel and steering wheel rubbing hard while turning. Lubed steering column and replaced trim
3) Rear entertainment DVD drive stopped playing movies. New drive
4) Car throws up "level control system malfunction". Faulty sensor. Replaced sensor
5) Low on coolant. Cracked radiator that was replaced with all lines to/fro
6) Car overheats on highway. Broken water pump that was replaced
7) iDrive would freeze up. They reset and recoded iDrive
8) Rear hatch would close and pop right back open. Locking mechanism was jamming, so replaced whole latching mechanism.

All of those were covered under warranty or CPO.

8) Faulty air springs. Springs are here, but it's 3 degrees out. Not doing them today.

My experience:

1) Rear bumper with the faulty clips. Replaced bumper
Completed under warranty
2) Peeling trim on Steering wheel and steering wheel rubbing hard while turning. Lubed steering column and replaced trim
Need to do this, car is out of warranty
3) Rear entertainment DVD drive stopped playing movies. New drive
Completed under warranty
4) Car throws up "level control system malfunction". Faulty sensor. Replaced sensor
Have not experienced
5) Low on coolant. Cracked radiator that was replaced with all lines to/fro
Replaced out of pocket with indy. $800 or so.
6) Car overheats on highway. Broken water pump that was replaced
Replaced out of pocket with indy. $1,000 or so, I also had brake labor in there.
7) iDrive would freeze up. They reset and recoded iDrive
Have not experienced anything major yet.
8) Rear hatch would close and pop right back open. Locking mechanism was jamming, so replaced whole latching mechanism.
Replaced under warranty

friend of mine has a '10 (48i) and his roof drains (or roof) were faulty and water collected inside the car and the tail lights and the dealer claimed it was the fault of the owner not BMW's problem and had to pay out of pocket. (out of warranty by about three weeks and no good will from BMW... kind of BS IMO.)
