Confirming bulb sizes and options before I buy

Hello fellas,

I just picked up an 08 4.8 x5 yesterday and planning my first round of mods. I want to deal with the amber headlights. I have a couple questions and looking for opinions and answers.

Are the GP 8500 bulbs same color as a 8.5k HID bulb. I know sounds obvious but I wanted to confirm because I had 8k HID on my z06 and from pics I see online of the GP bulbs, they look very white compared to the obvious blue tint in my 8k HIDs.

My plan is to swap out the AE bulbs to a h8 GP thunder 8500 bulb. I also want to swap out the fog light bulbs to an h11 GP thunder 8500 bulb.

For the headlights will any H1 hid bulb work? I am thinking of a 6k-8k bulb but unsure if all I need to do is swap out the bulb using the factory ballasts.

Lastly, I am not a fan of the amber bulb in the headlights. Anyone know what size bulb this is? Anyone have a picture of this swapped out for a white look?

I am only doing this to change the color. I am not concerned with brightness or visibility.
