Tailgate light out... help please

Ok I tried searching "tailgate light" "tailgate light water" and so on so sorry if this is already posted. Have a 09 3.0 and the drivers light went out on the tailgate. Noticed some water in it so I removed the light and cleaned all the connections and replaced the bulb. No go, won't light up. I did notice a little circuit board in there but didn't go that far to try and test it.

So my question is, do I just need to replace the light or is there some other fix for this?

Thanks guys
Nobody cares what the definition of “is” is.

So sorry... common occurrence apparently. Same thing happened to mine, very shortly after i purchased it used 2 months ago. (Actually, It's still out)

Searched high and low - unfortunately, it looks like the only fix is to replace. Mine isn't my daily driver, so I haven’t taken the time to make an apt, take it to the dealer, etc (ext. warranty) and actually just last weekend, also tried removing it and cleaning it up myself, just for sh*ts and giggles. Same result... nothing!

Curious to know if, in fact, some master craftsman has invented a cure for this cancer? Anyone ever SUCCESSFULLY fixed this themselves? And if so, how!?

When they replace, they add better weather sealing to prevent reoccurance.
