Running boards in shadowline black

I have a 2008 X5 4.8 with the Sport Package. I've always wanted the running boards but didn't like that they only came in silver which doesn't match the black trim. Well, I finally just bought the silver ones, took them apart and had the silver plate powder coated gloss black. I'll post more pics after install but I'm quite pleased.

Looks good. How much did they charge you to powder coat them?

$80. I had a friend sand blast them first though. It's hard to tell if that was really necessary but the powder coat will definitely be thicker if you do

I still haven't found the time to take some proper ones but here's a quickie:

Might not be everybody's cup of tea but to me this is the way it should have been done on Sport Package cars and I'm digging it!

Where did you source the running boards? I think they look great in black!

I got them off eBay:

The fitment isn't perfect and I had to do some trimming with a knife but overall I think they were worth the savings over OEM.

Looks good. Now, I'm thinking of getting a set of those steps and might just use bedliner instead.
