Car Max Quote
I recently sold a 97 Jeep and got a quote from Car Max. Depending on the value/age of the car you will probably get below wholesale value. In my case I got a $600 quote on a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee in good condition. They take older cars to an auction and try and at least break even.
KBB value for a trade in was $2050. I ended up selling it for $1,800. Downside it took me 3 months to sell. |

^ As above, I ended up selling the car on my own. You should also know that it's tax season, cars sell much easier between now and end of April.
Good luck. |

You will get a bit more from the dealer on trade-in...at least I did on 2 different occasions. But I did get the quote from carmax to keep in my back pocket from a negotiating standpoint. If you are not trading in and just need cash soon, carmax is a good way to go.
