Here we go... odd sound

Ok I know this is the hardest thing to ry and figure out, but I'm taking a shot that this is a common one. Have a sound only when driving that sounds like a plastic bag is stuck somewhere under the truck. If I had to guess, left front. No loss of power and no codes. all fluids good. Sound in creases in rapidness (if that's a word lol) under acceleration. Now here is the odd part. It isn't always there. Doesn't seem to matter cold start or warm, just very random.

Best guesses ?

And yes, to reiterate, I know sounds are the worst to diagnose without hearing it.

Could it possibly be a plastic bag under your X?

For the longest time, my fiancee's Mazda 3 was making a "clunk" sound when going over small/large bumps...I couldn't figure it out. Thought it may have been a ball joint...Nope...the bracket the holds the hoodprop in place broke so the prop was dangling around...we all know that when you drive a Japanese car, you never need to open the hood in between oil changes...voila, problem solved...

So, the plastic bag under the X is probable...

I just had one of these today - there was a whining noise, driving me nuts for a while now.

Spent some time poking around, and found out that the rubber strip, which goes underneath the air intake hose, fell off, and was stuck between the radiator and the main pulley, being slowly ground away by the said pulley end result - rubber is back in place (albeit with holes in it) and no more noise

You say you keep looking under the car... what about in the engine bay inside the space between the fan and the engine. Many lief find their way there. Who knows, maybe plastic too.

FOUND IT ! Went on a hunt today now that is above zero finally. It is the fan belt. A stand is coming off at the one side and was whipping around. Cut it off and picking up a new belt on the way home.

Noticed I have an oil leak right beside the oil filter cap. Checked it and its tight and doesn't seem to be coming from there, any other ideas where this would come from? Oil cooler gasket?

I'll look more this weekend while doing the belt.

yep, oil cooler.
Until you notice it yourself and bring to attention, the idiots at the service department will not see it during their "comprehensive inspections".

So is that just a gasket? Or new cooler?
