Oh, no- YOU didnt suffer a DV loss, BMWFS will. Make sure it is fixed by a shop that BMW recognizes. You dont want BMWFS coming back to you later.

I know its frustrating to lose a car to an accident like this, but personally I wouldn't want to be paying lease payments or financing on a vehicle with a blemished history as such. Obviously the damage was a little greater than initially thought.

Man, I am glad you are ok, and whoever rode in the car with you are fine too (were there stray dogs on the street, or it was your dog?)

You got steel nerves - I would have been in a jail on double homicide charges - those two clowns, husband and wife, or whatever they were, would have been drinking from the pools of their own blood!!! not that i care for a car, but i like it, it a toy, and some moron ruin it!!!

I think a dash camera is a must-have, as there are many situations when you need an unbiased witness and there is none - a traffic stop, an accident when the other driver and passenger make a false claim against you or whatever the case might be...

I went a bit further in this quest, and installed an 8-channel mobile DVR, so far I have wired only 2 cameras, front and back, and the whole thing is still work in progress... But there are many great windshield mounted units, and the cost of ownership is manageable...

I hope you get something of comparable value and quality to replace your loss...

good luck

Wonder how will that double sided tape hold up in Phoenix, AZ. With outside temps in the 115's during summer, the tape will melt away... Did you attach the cam via other means? Which version of the BlackVue do you have and I would be interested in the hardwired schematics like other members as well. Thanks!!!

Sadly guys, my car is gone and i dont have any pics of the setup. however basically i placed the camera mount right under the mirror plastic casing, ran the wires up to headliner down c-pillar/a-pillar and ran to the cig lighter wiring underneath the console.
that is also how i ran my escort 9500ix too

That means that you did not have recording while parked unattended? Since your post I kinda started looking into dash-cams and the best alternative thus far is hard-wiring straight to the battery using a Power Magic... Am I correct? Thanks and good luck with your next wagen.
