Considering X5 35d previously owned by BMW Performance Center - concerns?

As the title states, for those who are familiar with the BMW Performance Center (South Carolina) and how they would use an E70 X5 35d, what would be your concerns?

Over 1.5 years of ownership it accumulated about 5000 miles. I'm assuming it spend most of it's time on the off-road course, as the X5M is more commonly seen being 'flogged' around the normal paved course.

Any thoughts are welcome.

I drove a brown one with every option (except leather dash) last April. We went on both courses, and we're encouraged to go as fast as possible on the track. It was a wonderful ride! What type of warranty are they offering?

I did notice some weirdness at the A-pillar. Looked like some black adhesive was protruding out of the interior trim, along the windshield.

There were a couple of 5.0s and the 35d I drove. They try to match you with what you ordered so you will know what capabilities your car will have. In our group there where X3s as well.

That is true, but there is another side of that coin.If/when something got broken on this car it was replaced not by the dealer's standarts, but by BMW standarts, due to very obvious reasons.I am sure if there was anything to brake,it did,and was fixed the right way. Also, those cars were not driven at race pace or in some crazy terrains,so if the price is right I'll jump in too.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but have you checked out some of the things that can go wrong on a diesel with the complicated emissions control system? Have you seen the pricing for the active tank, even one injector for the diesel is almost $500.

Ultimate short trip vehicle history. That's not good. Did it get up to operating temperature during these 18 months and 5000 miles?

If you're a tech who can do everything on it, consider it if it is cheap enough. If not, move on. My $0.02.
