S63 Charcoal Intake Filters...

I was cleaning out the engine bay from dirt, debris and other nonsense that has collected in the area and took apart the intake box to clean that as well and noticed there are two sets of filters. The standard paper intake filter and a charcoal pre or post filter. The two sets together seem a bit restrictive so I decided to roll the dice and remove them. Has anyone else on here removed them? Have you noticed any improvement or increase in sound?

Mine are long gone, I can't say I noticed any difference at all but it stands to reason they are restrictive.

i have done about hundred miles since i removed them and only noticeable difference is the tone at WOT...
