Trying to get to the glow plugs
Opened the bonnet and removed the cover of the intake box. I feel stupid because now I can't figure out how to undo the fastener pictured below. The drawings in realoem tell me nothing and searching on the internet brings no help either.
I don't want to break anything and so brute force is out for the moment...

Airbox is off
Apparently brute force is the answer. A good tug pulled it off.
Next step is the acoustic mat.

6 new glow plugs and GPCU
Just to close out on this thread, I ran out of time last weekend and on Tuesday sent an email to the SA to get the info I wanted. They countered with an offer to fix it at a fraction of the original quote and I agreed. So, I guess that experience is one yet to come. There is an SIB on it, I have yet to read what is in it. We needed to get it fixed and I had a busy week with another coming up.
