Arnott air springs for e70

Hello guys, ok so I have been having an issue of the passenger side rear of my E70 dropping after long periods of the truck sitting.
My question is are the Arnott air springs for e70 a direct replacement?
Also your opinion on changing both off the bat and also is this a BIG job??

My truck is 2008 4.8i and has 83k miles on it, but well taken care of, let me know your thoughts please.

They are a direct replacement, but Arnott suggests you replace them in pairs. I figured with a lifetime warranty, and with the other side just waiting to fail anyway, I decided to follow the recommendation and replace both.

If you have an O'Reilly Auto Parts store nearby, they were able to get me a pair of air springs the next day. I didn't have to pay shipping but I did pay local sales tax. Price quoted was around $189 and they retail for $199 (I think?)

This isn't a big job at all. There is a pictorial somewhere around here. It took me 1.5 hours doing both sides. First side took an hour, the other side went much faster. Good luck

I doubt I will try and tackle this myself, although I have worked on american cars here and there ( not professionally lol ) , but being new to BMW, kinda got me intimidated a bit.

It's fairly easy actually. Find the pump underneath the passenger side seat, disconnect lines and it's pretty simple. Huskerbmw has them for $185. There are several posts showing the DIY on air spring replacement.

I don't believe any real tools are needed for this job. What was it, an open ended 10mm wrench or flare nut wrench for the air line fitting? Correct me if that's inaccurate.

The springs themselves simply clip in and out of the bottom and top spring seats.

If you were nearby I'd lend a hand.

One who can work on American cars can pretty much fix anything. Knowing first hand having to pull alternators or lifting an engine out of its mounts to get to its spark plugs, it's pretty good training for working on BMWs which are actually very easy to work on.

Its definitely recommended to replace them in pairs and if one is leaking the other isn't far behind. At 200 for the pair it's probably the cheapest maintenance item you will come across in an E70.

Arnott makes quality replacement parts, my E53 has replacement Arnott fron air struts been flawless for over 2 years now.
