How do you remove pads from X5M calipers?

There are two pins holding the pads, I don't see a way to remove those pins. On my stoptech calipers, these pins had a hex head for easy removal.Name: IMG_2801.jpg

These look like they come out driving the retainer pins out with a pin and a hammer. They should be easy to remove. Once the retainer pins are out you can pull the pads toward you.

So the retainer pins are just friction fit?

Thanks gents, I'm going to start cleaning these up, sand them, and send them to the powdercoater.

I'm not doing anything crazy, just gray with red Brembo lettering. Did you paint yours yourself with the Rustoleum paint?

Yes, I've done calipers on several cars with this paint (also the hubs and edges of the rotors so they don't rust) and it works great! Covers extremly well and is very durable... You can spray it, or use a brush, works equally well in either mode

Still looking good on my Dodge Stealth after 12 years, the X5, and my wife's TT. VERY Highly recomend it.

In all I've probably done a dozen cars with this paint, and it has never let me down.

One more quick question, did you guys just reuse the two bolts holding your existing caliper carrier to mount the X5M calipers?
