Car dealer Come On 101...
Various methods used, but all the same motive: a dlr will give you something less than BB or Kelly or other price raters, and they want to sell you a new car.

standard pre-recorded message... Just like motordavid said... lol... they did not even bother customizing the message, like, "Hey Vince, we saw the condition of your car... blah, blah, blah"...

used to be a letter in the mail now it's a lot easier with a generic spam blast from the BDC department to recent customers.

Tell them you want 5k over KBB and have no interest in buying a car from them. You'll quickly see how interested they are in your X, translation, not at all!

A buddy got real excited when his CA forwarded an email from the CAs boss, saying "I need you to make a strong offer to [buddys name] for his 2009 328, because we need used cars for our spring sale. If you cant get [buddys name]s car, we'll have to buy some at auction". It was done real casual- like the CA was forwaridng the note saying "Hey, buddy- lets talk about your car"

He had 'new car fever' from the email- already looking at new 2013s in preparation for massive trade in values. Shattered when I told him it was a mass marketing email
