Hello Dears,

First post .. so happy to find such amazing form as I'm new BMWer ..

my BMW is 2007 model.. I've got lots of questions.. and would appreciate if you can help..

1. is there a way to download the Navigation DVD for middle east .. its very expensive here in Qatar.
2. I see a message all the time on the screen and I dunno what does it mean( check attachment) (20.9 1/100km).
3. where's the heat meter? how do I know if the motor is over heated?
4. how to set the side mirrors to close automatically with switching off the car?

There is no temperature gauge in the newer BMWs...on the X5s, that ended in 2007...you will know that you overheated because there will be a message highlighted in red in your instrument cluster...

What type of engine do you have?

Do you have any pictures of the X from the outside?

All BMWs don't remember when it started have the voice command button on the steering wheel, however, not all of the cars are equipped with the blue tooth module...I know BMW quoted me $900 for the module with install...I ended up purchasing a Jobra for $75, which was also voice activated...

Salam Ahmed, welcome to the forum.

about the message - it advises you about the fuel consumption of the car... lesser the number of liters that your car is burning to move you 100 kms - better the engine economy performance. this number depnds on your driving habits but should stay within certain bracket... if you drive like an old-old man, very cautiuosly, the fuel consumtion will be very conservative... if you drive like a wild man, racing from one traffic light to the next one, the consumption will be much higher... But, it should not matter in Qatar, should it? Is gasoline expensive there?

to change that display, check your turn signal stalk on the left of the steering wheel - is there a button that you can push? What happens when you push that button?

Are you sure you have a BT unit installed? most newer BT units (newer than the E53 platform) would have the VR hardware installed

what happens when you press the talking head for a brief moment? do you get a message asking to connect a phone?

again, welcome to the forum!!!

Hi Terminator X5, Thanks a million for your message,

1. Gas is pretty cheap in Qatar .. 1 liter = USD 0.27
2. I'm sure I have bluetooth, I'm currently using it with my iphone.
3. when I click that button nothing happens.. tried many times to push and hold nothing happens again.
4. any tip and trick to get the Navigation DVD ..

Hey guys.

No one got an answer for the DVD nav??

Another question plz. I always find black powered around the alloy rings. As per the pic. Anybody knows that's that? And is that harmful?

When reversing the car. Only the right mirror goes down and the left one doesn't move. Are there any adjustment I've to do?

Thanks best forum ever!
