LED Angel Eye Options

Looking to upgrade the angel eyes on my 2011 X5 to have the whiter LED appearance of the newer models.

Does anyone have experience/reviews of the ECS Tuning "H8 LED Angel Eye Kit"? Sells for ~$150 and includes bulbs and ballasts.

How does this compare to the Lux H8 Kit which most people seem to recommend? The Lux kit is $200+.

Thanks.

Hi,

I was too cheap to spend so much money on two light bulbs and I'm happy with my decision.

I was going for a more LED OEM style solution rather then the extreme bright blue.

Xenon off!

Not sure what I'm looking at...which kit did you install?

I'm definitely looking for as close to an OEM appearance as possible.

I went with LED Cree H8 from eBay.

You mean you want to keep the piss yellow look?, the ones posted are whiter and match the white of the headlights. IMO a better look and I did the Fog lights with a whiter bulb as well, but that was the look I was going for.

I'm thinking he wants as close to the 'New' OEM as possible, such as the following:

On my 2011 X5 I went with the LUX series (I even wrote the installation guide they use to install them), but for the cost difference I'd probably get a set of the Cree's off of eBay.

They appear to be the exact same thing and cost a fraction of the LUX bulbs.

Thanks...You are correct - looking for something that looks as "new" OEM as possible - i.e. the 2011+ models with the white angel eyes.

After doing more research, I think I'm going to try the latest Cree DTEC LED bulbs...seem to get great reviews.

I went with a company I originally found through eBay. Then went to their site and their pricing and warranty made me pull the trigger. Seemingly the same stuff the others have at a fair price and lifetime warranty.

Since the angel eyes worked out I got their LED Fog Light upgrade. That was a killer upgrade. Maybe better than the Angel Eye upgrade! If it wasn't asking for a ticket you could drive with just the fogs on with LED upgrade!
