where to buy differential oil

I have a 2009 X5 30i. I mistakenly removed the front differential oil while trying to do an oil change and now I need to refill it. The BMW dealership doesn't sell differential oil. Does anyone know what kind and where I can buy differential oil? Thanks.

When I changed my differential oil on my e90 I went to Amazon.com. Best price hands down for ALL fluids. Walmart also has great prices.

View the thread entitled FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FLUID FLUSH first. It's lower down on the first page on threads and it describes an entirely different method of accessing the front diff. ..unless of course the plug location in that post refers to the filling plug if there is such a thing. I have no experience with the differential but the picture you supplied looks very close to the location of the transfer box. I apologize if I am adding unnecessary confusion.

Ask your local repair shop if you trust them.

Red Line Synthetic Oil - Gear Oil for Differentials - 75W90 GL-5 Gear Oil

This is what redline recommends for your diff. You can order it off amazon for less plus free shipping if you have prime.
