When you are changing the transfer case oil You have to reset adaptation which calibrates it so it worked the way it should, without causing premature failure. I think you need ISTA, haven't seen it in this app, but I could be wrong.

In the coding, there is a code for:
IHKA: Automatic compressor engine speed.
The explanation is: Increase engine speed when A/C compressor is ON.

I have lived with higher than normal idle speed (900rpm) when the compressor is on, and had asked the dealer if there was someway to reduce it...they said (as usual) NO. The higher engine idle speed makes the X5 a bit unruly at slow speeds and braking.

So I see an option now in the BMWHAT APP to decrease it.

MY QUESTION: BMW must have had a reason for running the idle speed up with A/C on...I thought maybe emissions? A/C cooling? but, what negative effect would be to reduce the idle speed to normal (about 600rpm) as when there is NO compressor running ?
On most cars the idle speed is increased when AC is on to compensate for the extra load the AC compressor places on the engine. On older cars you would see this as a drop in idle speed as you switched the AC on. Mine has been set to off since I got the vehicle new.

So I got this app and the dongle, since my existing BT ODB reader wouldn't work well with this. So far so good, however I disabled the "cornering lights" and yet I found this morning that they still came on when I was pulling into a parking spot.

Maybe it's another setting, but I've noticed that my foglights will come on automatically when I'm backing up (with the headlights on, but in the automatic switch position) and whenever I'm turning into a parking spot at work (no blinker used, it's in a parking garage). I really want the fogs to never turn on unless I press the switch.

I'm glad you posted this cause I've got the same problem. 2010 4.8

I doubled checked my settings this morning and both settings for the corners lights are set to not active. Also, mine is a 2011 35D fwiw.

Out of interest why would you want to disable cornering lights?

they're unnecessary for one. Also it'll cause premature wear of the bulbs in there. I know they're not super expensive, but it just seems like a waste.

I actually like them now. I tried for a little while without them but began missing them. I do think the X5 looks a little cheap with only one fog light on but still, I like them enough to deal with it.
