What would you get?

Hi,

Love my 08 4.8i (w/83k), but wondering, like may others, if now is the time to make a switch before it needs any additional repairs (done: fuel pump, alternator, coolant leak, washer pump, etc) like valve seals, etc.

If I were to get something else, either SUV/SAV or 4 door sedan, what would you suggest? I haven't found anything I like nearly as well as my X5 yet... I've done a ton of stuff to it, so it will be hard to part ways.

Know this is an open ended question and highly subject preferences and opinions, but I do value the opinion of many folks on this forum.

Thanks,
John

Find myself in the same predicament, nothing else out there really has catch my eye, have thought about going to an X5M actually almost when thru with it.
but last minute the negotiation fell apart.
Still looking but not as actively as I was...

So my list right now is the following .

11/12 X5M
2013 535i M sport Xdrive

Let's see what the new year brings, maybe relocating again to FL and will just go for a drop top 😎

Very difficult question. You have to decide for yourself what you really need.If you think your car does not give you what you want ,try to find something better.

I'm looking for something else to replace my e53 that has 3rd row and I really want an e70 but most of them in my price range is either a base model or high mileage (over 100k) but the only other SUVs out there that I might even consider is a pathfinder/armada but I've heard they are not sporty at all and really drive like trucks

Agree, but what any of those mentioned have to do with X5
If one is like me and can tolerate X5 because of the utility alone, what else would do

He asked for alternatives... did you read his original post?

What part of this did you not understand?
