I have owned my x5 for about a year and a half now. I bought it with 55k miles and now it has about 76k miles. Upon purchase I demanded that the dealer give me a copy of the entire service history of the vehicle. I read through all 6 pages of the history and my car has been taken really good care of. It pays to find a very well kept car with low miles. THis is the second BMW I've purchased from the dealer and I have a good relationship with my sales associate who has hooked me up twice now. The only thing I've had to do thus far is replace the coolant expansion tank as it cracked last year on the 1st day it got down to 30 degrees. These are the things I know I'll have to replace soon:
- Valve cover gasket (Every now and then I get a burning smell through my air vents and I see some oil residue on the head shield above the exhaust manifold.) - Thrust arm/lower control arm bushings (These are common items that wear on these cars)
