Don't worry OP you're not the only one, my 2008 E70 was a piece of trash. There was something wrong with it once a month whether it be a failed part or some leak in places that shouldn't leak. I spent thousands in parts alone fixing it. (My current e71 works beautifully though.)

I've read in places that a lot of the issues I've had to deal with in relation to the engine were fixed for the '12 model year. I love this X to death and can't really see myself driving anything but an X5d.

I dont think there are so many changes from '11 to '12.Probably mostly small things.

Well, it looks like the X has a bad oil supply line to the front turbo. SA is currently working on getting covered under the CPO. CPO says engine hoses for coolant and oil are not covered, but in the parts manual (thank you RealOEM), all oil lines for the turbos are referred to as 'pipes'.

This may be the key to me paying a $50 deductible or around $600 for the repair. My other argument was that if one of the line fittings was leaking, they are actual machined fittings which would be covered under CPO where a clamp is not.

My SA already sent the request up to BMW before I sent him my idea for getting the CPO coverage using BMW's wording against them...and he worded it how I presented it.

Glad I have a good SA at that place
