If you read the 2012 X5 press guide it states - 'BMW Assist, iPod/USB Adapter and Hi-Fi Sound System added as standard to all X5 Models.' BMW USA News I'm currently stuck in a 6 hour conference call so plenty of time to run some VINs! Still seeing what I saw before when I was looking to buy - 2011 35i without Premium Sound Package L405387 - S645A US Radio L739527 - S645A US Radio L741806 - S645A US Radio 2011 50i without Premium Sound Package L419074 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system L421812 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system 2012 35i without Premium Sound Package L988547 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system L758280 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system L752331 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system 2012 50i without Premium Sound Package L418646 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system L423712 - S676A Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system |

Very surprising indeed. I guess this is why 677 was such an expensive option early on? Wasn't it almost $2k when the e70 first came out?Chris |

Could be, I don't know much about the pre-LCI package prices. In 2011 Premium Sound (S677A) was $1800, in 2012 it dropped to $1500, and I think even less for 2013? Which makes sense - why pay a lot when S645A was no longer around and the difference between S676 and S677 isn't that much.
