Waterpump / Oil Leaks, etc.. Advice on Selling

I have a 2009 BMW X5 3.0 with 120k miles on it.
I've had it about 2.5 years, and put around 60k miles in that time. I commute to work quite a bit, etc.

I haven't had many problems, until now. The water pump and thermostat went out last week, and I had that repaired at an indy with parts off the web. It was about 900$ for everything.

During the repair, the tech noticed a lot of oil leaks, and I had smelled some oil when the heat was on. Long story short, he said basically every seal in the car was bad. He shot me a good price to repair, around $2200.

I'm having the dealer leak test it tomorrow and their estimate on all the seals is $5600.

The car book is 13-13.5k, I owe around 17. I was offered 12,000 from a non-bmw dealer. And 10k from the indy for it.

Would you trade this car away and take the loss or fix it and keep driving?

Really at a loss. Would like to hear from anyone who had similar issues and their decision.

Thanks in advance. I've crept these boards to fix some random issues with my old x3 and this x5, so thanks to all who have posted DIY's.
