HELP - Gear selector issue!!

Is anyone else having issues with the unlock button on the side of the gear selector? Seems to catch on something when button pressed.

Hoping someone out there know how to take the gear selector stick fully apart or has a solution other than replacing it completely.

Thanks for your help!

Is it a hard "catch on something" or more of a soft like candy. Someone may have touched it with dirty hands. I'd try to clean it around first before disassembling.
Had an issue like that with my #6 preset button. Kids mush have touched with dirty hands.

It is more like a hard catch on something. Sometimes seems to work fine as well.

Thank you
