Comfort Access door lock sensitivity
That said, it seems the sensitivity of the door lock/unlock touch spots is very poor. I usually have to try 2-3 times before I get it to unlock and maybe 6 or more times before it actually locks. Sometimes I give up and use the rear door handles to lock it. Is there anything I can do to improve the sensitivity of the driver's door handle short of replacing it? It's also been raining here quite a bit lately, would that potentially make it function worse? The Lexus was flawless no matter what the weather... |

This happened to me too. It was because the battery in the key fob was dying. Try replacing the battery and you should be good to go.

The battery is available at almost anywhere; Walgreens or CVS to name a few. It is the standard CR2032 that almost every remote uses.

But if the keyfob battery was actually low, you'd get a warning on the dash about it (comfort access), plus it wouldn't work so readily on the rear door handles like you mentioned. I think the problem handle(s) may need looking into unfortunately.
Maybe they need to be cleaned? Mine are really sensitive and works the first time. A few drops of water falling on it (like washing it) will engage it.

I'm well aware. But I tend to buy everything on Amazon just because. So I bought new batteries last week since my secondary key fob was giving me a low battery warning. The main one I use isn't giving the message, but I'll replace the battery anyway

Could be the position of the key in your pocket too. Every door handle has antenna to detect the key, so there shouldnt be a difference in the way the front and rear works. With mine, when the battery starts to lose some power I need to be very close to the car to detect the key and usually after a few days I get that low battery warning.

I found that if my cell phone is in the same pocket as my key is ,then sometimes it doesn't work.May be because of interference or something..

Same here for the odd operation at times.
We've just come out of a nasty cold winter here where it was -11F some mornings when getting to the office and some days I could lock it with heavy gloves on and then when it warmed up a little (if you could call +5F warm) there were a couple of times that I had to try both the front and rear handles before it would lock without any gloves on. Thing is, now that it's warmer out, like today about 55F, it works perfectly and no battery message or anything. It's been about 1 1/2 years now with this remote so I'm going to change out the battery to keep it fresh. Don't want the wife calling me up that she can't get into the car. I'm sure all know, but worst case you can use the actual key inside the remote if need be.
