Option 420 - Sun Protection Glazing

I have seen answers both "yes" and "no" to whether the Sun Protection Glazing option absorbs UVA and UVB rays. Since it has done nothing but rain here in SoFla since we bought the car on Saturday, I can't test out whether the car heats up or not. I don't want to spend the money on additional tinting if the car already handles it. Actual BMW-sourced documentation would be great.

It's my wife's car.
