Nice eagle.

Very Nice!! Love that color.

Freut mich sehr dass dieser Adler gelandet ist :-)

You seem to have wider arches, the wheels look a bit tucked under the fenders. Time for some wheel spacers?

Ja ich auch. Es dauerte sechs Monate.

I like the look as is, thanks. I saw some during my search with the 20" asymmetrical F&R rims set up so I guess the flares are to allow for the wider rims.

Congrats on the acquisition of the f15.

BTW the extended wheel arches are part of the M-sport pkg regardless if it was ordered with the 19” or optional 20” wheels/tires.

Thanks QS.

I love the vehicle but not sold on the klumping run-flats or the super light electric steering. I am getting accustomed to both and will eventually change out the tires once I find a compact spare kit that does not require a mortgage to buy.

I picked up my f15 in July/2020 and ditched the run flats by Sept/2020. OMG what a difference (as everyone testifies)! I went with carrying a compressor and some fix-a-flat...along with making sure my AAA subscription is paid up.

To kinda fix the “light” EPS steering...I used the Bimmercode app to code SPORT mode as default upon start up. Then also coded the “individualized sport mode” pop-up to where “sport steering” (aka CHASSIS) can be initiated separate from the drivetrain. This allows me to leave the transmission and engine (drivetrain) in COMFORT mode. If I need the tranny & drivetrain for a quick get-a-way...I just flip the gear shift lever over into the M/S gate.

The “individualization” of the sport mode is decoded if you don’t have one of the adaptive suspension systems (DHP or Adaptive M) and Bimmercode allows you to bring it back up in iDrive to separate the chassis (steering & suspension) from the drivetrain (engine & tranny):

I just bought a Dynaplug kit and I'm now checking out my old compressor. I already have some Slime but I might need to update it as it is a little long in the tooth.
The RFTs will be staying for a little while and I'm looking at the latest Yokohama Geolandar (G58) as replacements. I had G55s on the old girl and really liked them.
We have 2 miles of gravel road to traverse each time we leave and another 2 to return so off-road type tires are necessary if you want to go to town.

Tried the Sport mode on a drive to our local PO and the steering is an improvement. I do not have the BC app for now so I guess I'll leave it in Sport mode for now.

Yeah, the sport mode tightens the steering a little bit more.

But there still nothing like the feel of BMW’s steering when the vehicle uses some hydraulic assist. If you have the DHP or Adaptive M suspension...then you get that old BMW “feel”.

My f06 650ix GC (which doesn’t even have the M-sport pkg) but has the hydraulic assist and power steering fluid reservoir...and even in COMFORT MODE...the steering is tighter than the f15 X5 when in full on sport mode.

When we were doing the due diligence before purchase a "service check" was run through a dealership. The service Manager typed in the last seven and when everything popped up he noted it did not have the DHP and exclaimed that was a good thing as it gave all sorts of problems.
I would have hydro steering retrofitted but then the computer would have nobody to talk to in the steering department and would start complaining about it. All I can say is everybody will have to get accustomed to it or be willing to drive an older model as it is the way things are going. I was surprised to see just how many auto makers have switched to it.
I hope when I get around to the tires they will help with the feel. I'm looking into the BC app and have asked them if it will work with my BimmerGeeks adapter.
