F15 X5 vs Cayenne GTS?

Hello all,

I'm looking to get some input as to what car I should get next. My e70 X5 is constantly breaking down and I've had enough! I've been eyeing the current generation Cayenne GTS with it's NA V8 motor but I am not a big fan of the exterior. The F15 X5 on the other hand to me personally, looks beautiful. Has anyone here driven both extensively? I am curious as to what everyones opinion is?

I am open to other recommendations as well. My list of requirements is fairly simple. This will have to be an "all around" car. We have four cars currently, three of which have extremely limited luggage space so I need a decent sized SUV/Sedan for trips to our vacation home and the grocery store. This car will be driven around 60 miles every day so I want it to be somewhat reliable, I am not asking for Honda reliability, just something that will not break every 2 weeks. Price is not an issue though I do not want to spend more than $120k. MPG is not an issue either.

Thanks!

Have you thought about maybe giving another X5 a shot? I know it may seem counter-intuitive....but sometimes you just end up with a vehicle that seems like it was built on a friday afternoon of a long weekend.

I swayed from the roundel and picked up a Sport Supercharged that was nothing but problems. Had it for about 3 months (of which it spent a total of 3 weeks shop time) before the "smart" key module crapped out and I had to get it towed back to the dealer. Traded that in for a Sport Autobiography the day it got towed in, which, has been a night and day experience.... All I'm saying is if you like the X5 why not give it another shot?? Especially if you like the way it looks!

On the other hand if you're looking for a change, I've heard good things about the new Rover Sports in terms of driving dynamics....They look like poop IMO though compared to the previous gen.

Thanks, I have been throwing around the idea of getting an e70 X5M but my wife doesn't approve because she's traumatized from all the times she's had to pick me up on the side of the road or the dealership.

And it's funny you mentioned the Range Rover because we actually visited a Land Rover dealership today to check it out. We agree that it looks like poop too...reminds us both of a glorified Ford Flex.

We have an appointment to test drive a Tesla Model S this weekend. Hopefully we will like it and get one so I don't waste time at the pump as often.

Thank you to all that have responded, we test drove a Model S recently and absolutely LOVED it. We ended up ordering one today and will be taking delivery in September.
