LEFT Fuel Level Sensor Issue

Hello all. I have a 2020 BMW X5 40i. I’m getting a code when the fuel tank is between half and empty. If I keep the tank above half full, the code never sets. Here is the code:

193001 – Information Fuel Level Sensor, LEFT, signal: Short Circuit to B+

Here is the problem: realoem doesn’t show a part for a left fuel sensor (driver side, LHD model). I only see the pump and level sensor which is on the right side (passenger side, LHD model). I pulled the seat just to have a look myself and the only access to the tank is via a circular plate on the right (passenger) side. There is no access plate on the left (driver) side. So, the parts diagrams appear correct.

This is unlike my E46 where there are access holes on both sides for both the main pump and transfer pump.

Mechanically competent here. I’ll be able to fix this myself. Just need to some help going in the right direction. Surely this isn’t a permanently installed part inside the tank itself?

Thanks,
Nick
