I wonder if the premium price over the standard X6 is worth the savings in fuel? I also expected more from BMW, like 40% or something revolutionary.

I guess you mean 20% decrease. I wouldn't want a hybrid that increases fuel consumption

i'm really surprised too... 20% doesn't seem like much at all
sounds like BMW just wasted millions of $$$ |

I think you guys might be missing the point with this hybrid. I suspect that BMW is going to sell the hybrid as a performance upgrade model. Much like Lexus does with the LS hybrid and GS hybrid. If you look at the pictures of the X6 hybrid it's got an //M hood bulge and more aggressive styling. Look for massive accelleration figures over the non-hybrid version, so it won't be so much about fuel economy.

Even the Lexus are advertized as more "environment-friendly" than their non-hybrid counterpart.
On the other hand, if the 20% decrease is real (and not just on paper), then it's not so inefficient as it may seem. After all, the RX400h is supposedly 28% more efficient than the RX350, but is it really? |

Call me crazy, but I think the Hybrid will come with an //M badge...

Brute accelleration, gobs and gobs of torque available instantly via the electric motors, a combined gas-electric horsepower of well over 400.... Sounds like an //M car to me. By the way, I've owned 4 M-cars, and the Lexus GS450h blew me away.
