finally someone is telling it as it is, lets face it lads, from the concept pictures etc, the x6 s nothing to scream about, so silver was merely voicing out what i feel is a point of view from a large number of ppl on the upcoming x6 rather odd looks. Lets hope the car when properly unveiled will look better. In the mean time, that was pretty funny silver, calling the x6 a euro azteck hahahah

The concept without the pillars and with a better design of the rear view mirrors look pretty good. However, if they are going to use the X5 rear view mirrors and with all the pillars as shown in the other thread, then it is not as good.

Given that they are prepared to show it to the public very soon, howcome they won't release the engine spec and more details of the Dynamic xdrive? Some people are saying that the 4.8i engine will be used in the top model X6 (for the non-M of course). Hopefully, the 4.4L v8 biturbo is really coming for the X6.

Big side mirrors are demanded by national legislation in many contries around the world. Thier functionalyity is prescribed. And engineers have to obey those rules. Especially the new EU law is very strict ... so expect big mirrors on smaller cars as well.

Pillar-less SAV? I don't thnik so. They are needed for structural rigidity . especially in the car of that size and weight.

V8 turbo engine is coming. Not sure if already at the launch though.

And what about MB CLS mirrors? I hope there will not be mirrors like E70, they are really good for driving but don't fit to X6.

In today's Autocar it printed a claim that it will be publishing 'Official BMW X6 Pictures' this week on www.autocar.co.uk.

I presume this means that the embargo will be lifted sometime this week.

p.s. I have just had it confirmed that pictures will be released from embargo during the next few days.
