I hate Autoweek. I used to get calls from them every single damn day. I yell at the person "cancel my subscription, and don't call back!!!". The calls stop, the magazine did not. I'm not renewing.

btw: look at the comments on the Autoblog article.....

Don't see how the tiny article showed no love for BMW
Quote:
Our friends at BMW think everything in the lineup should have sportiness, even their SUVs. The next evolution of that philosophy is the X6, which BMW is bringing to the Detroit auto show in January.

We got our first glimpse of the X6 as a concept in Frankfurt, but the Detroit version of the five-door, four-seat “Sport Activity Coupe” is what the dealers will get.

Here's the best part: The top engine in the X6 line is BMW’s new twin-turbocharged V8 with direct injection that produces 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque in top xDrive50i trim. This motor is the future for BMW's high performance lines (think M3, M5 ... geez, maybe there could be an M1?)

Base xDrive35i versions ride with the twin-turbocharged, 300-hp, I6 used in the 335i and 535i.

BMW's new twin-turbocharged V8. The numbers: 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
Both X6 models receive a six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.

In addition to standard all-wheel-drive, all X6s have a computer-controlled rear differential with dual planetary gears and clutch packs that adjusts torque to each rear wheel. BMW says steering precision, vehicle stability and traction improve thanks to the new unit. BMW’s integrated chassis management also controls the X6’s all-wheel-drive system, stability control, rear differential and active steering (when equipped) to provide optimal traction and handling settings in accordance to road conditions.

The styling of the production X6 is nearly identical to the Frankfurt concept with BMW’s signature kidney grille with a roofline that gradually swoops toward the rear to give a coupe-like appearance.

Come back to www.autoweek.com in early January for a full test-drive report.

That is just user gab, not Autoweek's opinion.

2002Silver is just looking for bad things just because he does not like X6 and did not read through article. I am sure he has seen other articles on X6 but he choose this one, because he thinks it shows no love.
