Hi Glenn Mc

I too have been asked to spec my X6 order.
Can you not wait until Detroit Motor Show next week? i'm sure there will be a few colour combos to see.

I am currently leaning towards VR with Oyster/Bamboo

To be honest, I don't even know what engine i'm going for as my first choice X50i will not be with us until Q4.

come on Glenn don't tease us, what did you go for ????

top marks if you went for VR, need some balls to go for a new colour without actually seeing one in the metal

He went for VR. Good man. I'm keeping my order on VR until I see a few more pictures of physical cars at Detroit.

I believe we have a few weeks yet, before the spec becomes unchangeable. BMW UK are just trying to gather together their firm orders to enable the factory to plan their production slots.

Mine is still VR/Black Nevada/Dark Ash Wood, but if I do change it then I would go for Deep Sea Blue (which is the same external colour as my RS4 Avant).

I've initiated a long and painful debate on Pistonheads to try and help me decide firmly on the engine choice. Thus far I've gone for the 35d, but I plan on consolidating both my ML63 and RS4 into the X6, and it seems sacrilege to dispose of two of the best V8 engines ever made and replace with a diesel...

That is a bold move Steve, you would have to LOVE the diesel soooo much to stop you daydreaming of another V8.
I know that BMW's diesel range are best in class, but I just don't do diesel yet it pains me to think that my wife is happy to get rid of her ML63AMG for a 35d X6.

It pains me too. I'm just trying to be sensible for a change, given that I have orders in motion for an R8 later this year and the next M3 CSL shortly after. So, I guess I still have V8's on the menu..... but can I survive the gap?

Maybe I should record the sounds of my V8s and play them back on the X6 35d's hi-fi...

With access to a friendly BMW parts manager you can get the following 21" wheels for the X6 (assuming they are the same offset as the X5, which I'm sure they are).

1. 21" Double Spoke Styling 215 - Ferric Grey (Price £3250 including Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST tyres, FA: 285/35 R21, RA: 325/30 R21)

2. 21" V Spoke Styling 239 - (Price £3250 including Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST tyres, FA: 285/35 R21, RA: 325/30 R21)

3. 21" Spider Spoke Styling 128 - (Price £3250 including Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST tyres, FA: 285/35 R21, RA: 325/30 R21).
