LemansX5, great pics and vid!! Thanks bro, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to find any love for the new X6. I'm just not feeling the overall design, especially the oddly-shaped sloping roofline. I just think it's just not well-proportioned. Front end looks great though. It doesn't mean I'm a hater, though.

One thing I just noticed...the reason the blond-headed kid is so sad?? It's because he can't sit in the car. Only two seats in the back seat of the X6.

I was like you but seeing it last week in the flesh made me change my opinion. This car looks much better in the flesh than on pictures. I agree that it looks not well proportioned on pictures but once you walk around it, things all come together not to mention the fact that the car is big hence makes a intimidating impression.

Much will depend upon the colour it has.

PS: the wood as seen on the pictures above is ugly as hell imo. The idea behind the X6 was to create something sporty? Right? Then why offer it with wood trim?

I absolutely agree with you that seeing it in the flesh is a different story. So I will reserve final judgement until then.

Regarding the trims I personally prefer wood over non-wood (CF/Aluminum) for the added warmth. Matter of tastes I guess but I'm sure non-wood trims will also be offered.

Finally, nice stable you have there, especially the Ruby blk M6. I saw an Individual E70 X5 with Ruby blk and the color is absolutely beautiful. I'd love to see a few pics of your M6 and the E70 as well with those bad-boy 22" ACS. I see that you are a fan of those type IV's. Please post in the "other BMW forums". Thanks.

I don't know if BMW has ever NOT offered wood trim on any of there vehicles, they would lose a lot of sales I imagine.

Sure, aluminum and CF trims better suit the car IMO, but not every buyer thinks that way.

I have gone for 'Dark Ash Trim' which isn't available in the US and was the darkest wood I could choose. I don't like aluminium trim since it looks cold and stark, would much prefer either a CF trim or Piano Black (as I had on my 4.6is) but neither are offered.

The Black Aluminium trim offered on the X6 just looks weird in the pictures. Can anyone who went to Detroit comment on how it looked (it was on the Tasman 35i).

Do you still have the maritime trim on your X5?
