I just got back from the car show in new york and in the basement there is another BMW section with two X6s (35i and 50i) that they were letting people manhandle. I sat in the front and the back and found the seats to be very comfortable and with enough room. I am only 5'9" though and would image a taller passenger to have a little trouble in the back. Overall the car is gorgeous in person and you definitely cannot make assumptions about it based on pictures.

Aaah crap, I was at the show yesterday and this was the first time in my years of going that I didnt visit downstairs. I agree that the car is absolutely beautiful in person, and that colour red will just be screaming for the police to pull my ass over. By the way that CS Concept had my willy moving in the upward direction. That concept is pure sex on wheels.

there were more shows downstairs? o crap.

i thought the show was boring in general.

The only thing impressed me at the show was the CS caddilac's CTS coupe and the buick concept.

I thought the X5 was better looking than the X6 overall.

Sensible and Practical

And why question "what's the point?". What's the point of an X5? Surely either a proper truck or Minivan/MPV would be more sensible, but we don't buy these cars just to conform to society's expectation of 'sensible'. We buy them because they suit our needs and we like them.

What's the point of a 3-series Coupe rather than Sedan? What's the point of a 6-series rather than a 5-series? Is there really an answer to that question either than "because we prefer it"?
Steved,Your cut from the same cloth as me.Some things in life are meant to be purely enjoyed w/ not much utility......high performance automobiles come to mind.I don't think the X6 has ever been cast as a "Sport Utility Vehicle".As much as I dislike the "Sports Activity Coupe" monicker,it probably does come closest to accurately describing the X6.If modern automobile engineering and design will allow a 5k "SAC" to mimic a sports car and allow me to enter and exit w/o the use of a shoehorn, and look the coupe part,.....all I can say is,where do I sign the dotted line.Thanks.
