But, everything seems pricey to me, these days, lol!

Doesn't seem pricey to me (in the UK). Over here it is the same price as an equivalently specced X5, and I don't see why it should be any cheaper than an X5.

I like it; doubt I will ever own one...these $70 G cars
are currently out of my retiredbum budget.

I need a Fund Drive, lol!

Glad they sold the production out; will be interesting to
see what happens in MY 2 or 3, however, when gas is
$6+ in '09.

By the bye, is that "Beck'08" as in Glenn Beck, Beck's Beer,
or Beck Hansen? ... lol!

My comment was "pricey" as in most things seem pricey to me,
these days. I like the car, I like lots/most cars...I'd like a new
car/motorcyle, as our "newest" vehicle of our 6, is the '03 CR-V
"Fridge".

A $70G car is simply not on the near horizon, for us.

Saw 2 of them here in PHX, AZ at the dealership. I sat in one but the wife did not like it so we got the X5 instead.

Understood. I'm aware that in some countries the X6 is priced higher than the X5, hence a growing reference to it being pricey (relative to the X5) and therefore that BMW are ripping off customers by charging more for less. In Europe both X5 and X6 are the same price, once spec is equalised, so its more of a simple trade-off between utility and driving pleasure (when choosing between the two models).

I still don't understand the X6 concept, even til this day. Once the utility factor has been taken out of the X5, the X6 would NOT be my first, second, third....etc. choices of a driving pleasure vehicle. For the same dough, do you think that I would preferred the X6 over an M3? Don't think so. To me, the X6 is just an answer to a question that no one asked.

I already have an M3, which is hopeless by comparison as a family car, as a car to traverse off the tarmac, or for ski trips. As I said, for me the only difference to an X5 is that it has one less seat....which I never used anyway.

Strange how such statements are made about the X6 being "an answer to a question that no one asked", since several of us asked exactly this question 3-4 years ago on X5 World, those of us who already owned BMW's top sporting X5 and wanted more. We're not all going to want the same thing, but it shouldn't be such a difficult choice to understand why others might prefer it.
