Whistle Rusty calipers

I have just got a 6 month old X6 35d but notice yesterday when washing the break calipers are rusty, is this normal,
Has anyone painted theirs or is it a warranty job ?

Throw up a pic, the caliper shouldn't have rusted that fast. Even if it does rust, that is not a problem. Do some searching on this site and you'll find people who painted their calipers.

The rotors will rust, but I've never heard of the calipers rusting.

...when I wash any of our cars, the rotors rust up in a heartbeat,
esp. if I am thoroughly washing the wheels...my cals have a touch of rust,
in the creases, but those are 7 1/2 years old. The caliper rust scrubs off
with a couple of slow rolls up and down are driveway, brakes gently applied.

Caliper can rust, rotors would rust on the very first rain storm or car wash. If the paint somehow chipped off the caliper, it would definitely rust. I can't imagine anyone confusing a "caliper" with a "rotor"

For a comparatively new car, I would guess they pulled those hub, rotor and caliper sets
off of the bottom of the barrel.

I would be pissed and urge the stlr to make some swap or arrangements on replacing.
The cals are really ugly; almost like they were improperly painted to begin with or,
received some serious salt spray situation.
