Still in "ordered" status
I don't think they changed over to 2010 production yet.

As of week 41 (first week of October, 2009), they began manufacturing the 2010 models. I have a 2010 X6 5.0 on order now still in 112 status, but have been told by dealer that production should begin in week 43 (which is next week...but I doubt it will happen that quickly). BTW, you should know that the BMWUSA web site is several days behind what is really happening with your new vehicle order. I called their customer service, and they mentioned that they are currently working on a website update. Also, current "build you own" X6 is still shown as the 2009 model on their website. Several things have changed in 2010 (all X6's are $400 bucks more msrp), HD radio is standard, satellite radio cost has come down by $200, and rear view camera is now more expensive, but with top view added (which is very cool).

I just tried to post a message about my X6 being in production, but it went somewhere in cyberspace. Make a long story short, I ordered a 2010 X65 5.0 with just about all options three weeks ago from SunMotorCars BMW in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and was told today that production has already begun as of 12 noon on October 14, 2009 (which was yesterday). Really great people at Sun BMW. Loaned me a brand new 328i to drive until my new X6 arrives (I traded in my E class Mercedes to their MB dealer) last week. Somehow, the sales manager at Sun was able to change an X5 order to an X6, even though only about one in ten X vehicles are 6's off the production line in the South Carolina plant. Can't ask for better service than that.

New here
![]() My X6 is sitting waiting to be loaded onto the boat to come to me over here in the UK, fingers crossed mine is a 2010 model, can't wait until it gets here. What do I need to look out for to tell the difference, is the new I Drive on the X6? |

If your X6 was produced after plant in Greer, South Carolina re-opened in September, it will be a 2010 model.
